Q & A

Is there an additional charge for the removal of wood and debris form my property?
No. All wood and generated debris are removed from the job site, unless otherwise specified at the time of sale. Please note that only in the case of stump grinding will any debris remain on the property; for liability reasons, the grindings must raked back over the cavity to fill in where the stump once was.

What happens to the wood once it is removed from my property?
Whole logs and wood chips are recycled to produce root mulch, firewood and in some cases, lumber.

Can I re-plant in the cavity where a stump was removed?
Typically a new tree or shrub may be planted in a stump cavity. All root mulch must first be removed and replaced with soil appropriate for the replacement planting. If the previous tree was removed because of failure, be sure to consider the reasons for its failure to ensure that a replacement tree will not face the same complications. Examine soil conditions and check the surrounding area for any remaining roots or other obstacles that may affect the growth of a new plant.

Is there any risk of spreading termites or carpenter ants by using the root mulch from an infected stump in other planting beds around my landscape?
No. In most cases, insects vacate the area once their home is destroyed. The remaining root mulch is not an attractive environment to them.
